Marathon Adventure-I'm going to Italy

So I have taken on the challenge of raising money for an excellent cause and also training to run a marathon (that's 42 km!!) in Italy!!! Crazy, I know. I have become a part of the Joints in Motion Training Team with the Arthritis Society and while I train to run a marathon, I will also be raising $6200 which will go towards helping those affected by the debilitating disease of arthritis. I have always known people who have had to deal with the pain of arthritis, but until I took up this challenge I didn't realize just how wide spread the disease really is. Doctors are predicting that arthritis will be the epidemic of the future, and it can strike anyone at anytime. And so, this is just one more thing that has me convinced that every person should live life to its fullest every day and appreciate all that you have before it is gone. I have chosen to take on a huge challenge of training for a marathon and in the process will also be able to see a part of the world I wouldn't normally get to see. Italy!!!

I will endeavor to keep this blog updated and direct anyone here who would like to know how the training and fundraising are going.

I have Wiki'ed!!

So I found quite a few interesting Wiki sources. Again this is a lot like Youtube where your info. is coming from who knows where and who knows who, but there are a lot of interesting and knowledgeable people out there, and why not let them share it and let others gain from it. Plus you can find out others' opinions regarding certain subjects. A favorite I happened upon was: http://seuss.wikia.com/wiki/Dr._Seuss_Wiki Just because I love Dr. Suess and his rhynming stories, cause I often find myself talking in rhyme and have also considered granting myself a doctorate title. Dr. Andrea has a nice ring to it!

My experience with you Tube

I think you tube is great! there are so many videos out there to choose from that range from really educational, to purely entertaining. There are videos with step by step instructions on how to do face painting which really helped me at Halloween. And if you really want to put yourself out there you can share your knowledge, or talents with others. I think it can be a great educational tool if taken with a grain of salt.

Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) Get Involved Video

My Mom died from Pancreatic Cancer a year ago this past sunday, and now I wish we had checked out Youtube for info. on that topic. the thought never crossed my mind. It is amazing how little support there is out there in Saskatoon for this type of cancer. when my Mom looked into joining some sort of support group she was told by the Cancer center that there were groups from Breast cancer, prostate cancer etc. etc. but nothing for terminal pancreatic cancer. How sad is that?!

Troll Kegan

A very scary video done by a couple of kids that I happen to know, but maybe don't want to admit to knowing!!
